One event that we always attend is the annual AORN conference. The Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses, AORN , is a global surgical expo and conference that brings together perioperative nurses from around the globe for education opportunities, networking and inspiration. While at the conference we are able to connect with key decision-makers, professionals, experts, distributors, suppliers and potential clients. The networking allows us to hear first hand what challenges those in the OR face and what solutions can help to improve efficiency and improve patient outcomes. That information is invaluable and we wouldn’t miss the chance to interact with the true experts of the OR.
About Our Company
At OR Specific, our mission is to streamline and optimize operating room setup and workflow, for seamless and efficient procedures. Traditional back tables did not account for today’s complex instruments and equipment. As the surgeon’s needs have grown, back tables have needed to evolve. That’s where OR Specific comes in.
Founded in 1997 by Dan Becker, an orthopedic sales representative who noticed operating room setups were cramped, OR Specific designed the Double-decker Back Table, originally named the Big Case Back Table, to create additional usable space in a limited room.
The introduction of the 2-tiered standard table and perfect fit™ drape followed, and since then, we’ve made more improvements like adjustable, electric and lighted tables.
Each of our Double-decker Back Tables is manufactured in the U.S. and built to last using top quality stainless, sturdy casters and materials that can accommodate the heavy loads of operating room equipment.
Our specialty two-tier back tables and drapes are often imitated but never surpassed in quality and reliability.
Not only are our products unique but how they are manufactured is noteworthy too. Our perfect fit™ drapes are supplied by the North Carolina non-profit, Polk Vocational Services (PVS). This world-class supplier of quality medical products provides educational opportunities, vocational training, and life opportunities to people with barriers to employment. 100% of the production operation profits are returned to the organization and used to support their services. We are a proud and long-standing partner of PVS.
What’s at Our Booth
If you’re coming to the AORN conference, please stop by booth #910 and visit with us. We’ll have one of our latest innovations on hand, the Double-decker 428-ADJ-E electric/illuminated back table. Electronically height adjustable and LED illuminated, the back table allows the user to change the surgical surface height with just the touch of a button conveniently located to the right of the power supply. The table’s main surface can be raised from its lowest position of 29” to the maximum height of 38”. The upper shelf can also be adjusted from 12” above the main surface to 15”. While at our booth, visitors can see first hand the functionality of this specialty back table, ask questions, watch a brief draping technique video or even place an order. The adjustable height keeps the surgeon’s tools an easy reach away, while the LED lights installed under the upper shelf provide maximum illumination and visibility. LEDs give off a cool white light providing 40,000 hours of use.
